House on Leeson Street, Dublin

This well-known celebrity hang-out hosts many a baby shower including the lovely Pippa O’Connor who recently welcomed her second little boy. Party guests will be treated to canapes, pastries and sandwiches with a selection of cocktails, mocktails or simply tea and cake. You can reserve an area, or in true celeb style reserve the whole venue. The spacious and bright conservatory lends itself well to summer showers.

The Shelbourne Hotel, Dublin 2
Afternoon tea at the Shelbourne is a big treat for us here at kiki moon HQ. What a perfect setting for a baby shower. The Shelbourne has everything you need for a traditional afternoon tea – dainty sandwiches, homemade buttermilk scones with clotted cream and jams. Choose from a selection of teas and speciality coffees… and the icing on the cake….. the menu for the Wonderland Afternoon Tea also includes an edible pocket watch! Take note, book well in advance, this is always in big demand.

l’Ecrivain, Lr Baggot St, Dublin 2
For guests who prefer a fine dining experience for their baby shower, you won’t find better than l’Ecrivain. Beautiful food, elegant wines all accompanied by the sweet melodies from their piano bar. You can book a room exclusively (between 12-20 people) or simply book a table in the main restaurant. Always a good place for a bit of celeb spotting too if you’re nosey 😉

Foam Café, 24 Strand Street Great, Dublin 1
This is a personal favourite of mine, not quite as luxurious as our previous venues but definitely worth consideration. It’s a little off the beaten track but seriously cool and vibey. The décor is quirky and fun, you feel a bit like Alice in Wonderland, perfect for a tea party. The menu is perfect for the health conscious, I personally recommend the omelettes, soups are hearty and you will not leave hungry. They serve delicious desserts and great coffee. Can’t really ask for more.

Aqua, Howth, Co. Dublin

Ok, I’m going totally Northside for this, not least because it’s my
hometown! Aqua has to be one of the prettiest dining locations Dublin has to offer. It’s as close to eating on the sea as you will get. I always feel I am on board a beautiful yacht in the Med. Views are absolutely amazing and food is equally as good. Book in advance if you want the window seat, infact, you need the window seat, that’s the whole point. More fine dining than tea and cakes but they do have delicious desserts to choose from. You can go for a lunchtime shower or early bird most days. As their website says “Seriously good food, in a room with a view”.
